With expressive, soul-stirring vocals over spooky, enchanting piano, the Minneapolis-based singer / songwriter / producer’s arrangements are often sparse, yet deeply emotive. He draws influence from a wide range of sources, but his piano-centric writing is especially inspired by the vibe of downtempo artists such as Portishead, as well as the ethereal side of The Doors, Pink Floyd, and Nine Inch Nails.
